Art Reception 1 - Charity Tripp and Megan Moreo

What’s mine is yours was the theme of the show. This seems to be an appropriate theme to the collaborative show between Megan Moreo and charity trip. I have had a few classes over the years with Charity and Megan and have had the pleasure to see some of their work in progress and finished. Megan and Charity both have very different types of styles. Megan has for more of a focus on technology, especial that of using the Gameboy as a metaphor in her work. Charity then used many different themes in her work. The main one that I saw was a focus on peace and nonviolence.

I like many of her large-scale watercolor pieces of older people. I like how the watercolor really helps the subtly of the human skin. I was in alternative printmaking with Megan and Charity. Charities work in that class was the printmaking triptych of the butterfly. I like how she focused on one theme in three different forms. I also have enjoyed the many Megan’s focus on the game boy I found interesting. I like the repetition of a motif through out an artist work. I like how a symbol a can grow in meaning.

Blog Entry 6: P1 Final File

The aspect of this design that I developed over time was the aesthetic of simple depth. I had my two fonts picks out and then got my colors and background texture. What I wanted to do is have three simple attributes to apply to the design that I would use throughout the web page. I had the 3 colors that complemented each other well. Then I decided on three design feathers that would help with depth. I had my buttons and square features of the web page to have a circular shape on the top. This shape would be lighter to create a false leaded and it would make the buttons look like they are jutting out. Then I added another feather of a dark grey gutter feature that I make using inner shadow. This provides depth in the opposite direction. So I wanted to focus on a design that was mostly flat but used simple shapes to create depth. I also placed the colors in a way that balanced the web

I also fixed some spacing issues that were brought up in the critique and I also added a title that where it was need and added a pic for the main menu.
