What’s mine is yours was the theme of the show. This seems to be
an appropriate theme to the collaborative show between Megan Moreo and charity
trip. I have had a few classes over the years with Charity and Megan and have
had the pleasure to see some of their work in progress and finished. Megan and
Charity both have very different types of styles. Megan has for more of a focus
on technology, especial that of using the Gameboy as a metaphor in her work.
Charity then used many different themes in her work. The main one that I saw
was a focus on peace and nonviolence.
I like many of her large-scale watercolor pieces of older
people. I like how the watercolor really helps the subtly of the human skin. I
was in alternative printmaking with Megan and Charity. Charities work in that
class was the printmaking triptych of the butterfly. I like how she focused on
one theme in three different forms. I also have enjoyed the many Megan’s focus on
the game boy I found interesting. I like the repetition of a motif through out
an artist work. I like how a symbol a can grow in meaning.
